Daily Musings | Sunday 14 June 2009 by Richard Blayney

You know the profound meaning of “Wax on, wax off”

You rented VHS tapes, not DVDs.

You remember when it was actually worth getting up early on a Saturday to watch cartoons.

You had a ghettoblaster

The WWE was the WWF and you had all the action Figures

You had Roller skates before Roller Blades

You remember the Super Nintendo coming out

You remember watching home alone 1 and 2 (the rest were rubbish) …and tried to pull the pranks on “intruders”

You watched Tom and Jerry

You remember the launch of the Simpsons

You played and/or collected “Pogs”

You Remember just 4 TV channels and then just 30 or so channels on Sky

You played Hide-n-Go Seek at dusk

You watched Teenage Mutant Hero/Ninja Turtles

You destroyed your new school shoes playing football within a few weeks.

£1 was a solid amount of pocket money

You wanted the shades of Brett the Hitman Hart

The A-Team were your heros

Old referred to anyone over 20.

You survived without the internet, text messaging, flat screen tv’s and High Definition.

You had a pair of Reebok or LA Gear Trainers

You had Dr. Martin shoes

Puma Kings were the best football boots in the world and the Mitre Delta was the best football

You had cacettes and recorded the top 40 chart show.

You played Subbuteo

You placed a playing card and peg on your bike spokes to make it sound like a motorbike.

You seen the yo-yo craze come and go at least twice and your ambition was to get a Gold coka cola Yo-Yo

You watched Bevis and Butt-Head on MTV

You remember McDonalds coming to town

You can remember Michael Jackson when he was black

He-Man was the master of the universe
